Ferdi Alimadhi is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in academia and the technology sector. Currently serving as Chief Technology Officer for Open Learning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since August 2014, Ferdi has held multiple leadership roles, including Senior Director of Engineering and Products, and Director of Engineering within the same organization. In addition, Ferdi is a Board Member of the Open edX Technology Oversight Committee since July 2022. Prior to MIT, Ferdi worked at Harvard University as Lead Application Architect, and briefly as a Senior Java Developer Consultant at Pfizer. Early career experience includes roles at the University of New York Tirana as Head of the Computer Science Department and as a Programmer/Analyst for the Albanian Ministry of Finance. Ferdi holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Software Engineering from Harvard University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tirana in Albania.
