Gustavo Perez Ara

Gustavo is the Research Manager for the OGP Independent Reporting Mechanism (IRM).

He joined the IRM team in May 2017 as a Program Officer for the Subnational Government Pilot Program. Starting in July 2018, he transitioned to a Senior Program Officer, where his primary focus was the development of IRM reports in the Americas to assess the implementation of government commitments.

Previously, Gustavo worked at Transparency International as part of the Global Advocacy and Campaigns Department and the Public Management Office of Transparency’s Venezuelan Chapter. He holds an MA in Conflict Resolution and International Mediation from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a BA in Liberal Arts and International Politics from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
