Jorge Mario Montañez Ortiz has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Starting in 2008, they served as the Local Committee President for AIESEC, where they managed and represented the organization in Bucaramanga, Colombia. In 2010, they joined IBM as an Inside Sales Representative, specializing in software commerce solutions for Uruguay, Paraguay, and Venezuela. Jorge Mario later became the Inside Sales SCDE Team Leader for SSA & MX, overseeing business operations and revenue recognition. In 2015, Jorge worked at Oracle as a Database Sales Representative, focusing on Mexico strategic accounts. Jorge Mario then joined Blackboard as an Account Executive, responsible for sales and integrations of educational solutions in Mexico and the Caribbean. Jorge also worked at IntelliBoard, Inc as an Account Executive, increasing user adoption of their analytics tools. Most recently, they joined D2L as a Channel Account Manager, driving product and service sales through channel partners. In 2022, Jorge Mario Montañez Ortiz will begin a new role as the Sales Director for Iberoamerica at Open LMS, where they will oversee sales efforts and strategic initiatives.
Jorge Mario Montañez Ortiz completed an Engineer's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.
In addition to their degree, Jorge has obtained various certifications, including being a speaker at the XXVII International Meeting of RECLA: Digital Evolution of Continuing Education, a Humanistic and Sustainable Perspective, organized by the Continuing Education Network of LATAM and Europe in November 2022. Jorge Mario was also recognized as a distinguished speaker by Acreditta in July 2022. Furthermore, Jorge participated as a panelist in the Reduc@te Colombia 2021 event organized by Acreditta in October 2021. Prior to that, in September 2021, they acted as a speaker for Acreditta.
