Alaa' Ahmad

Alaa' Ahmad has a diverse work experience in the field of trade finance and treasury. Alaa' currently works as the Head of Trade Finance and Treasury at Open Mineral since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as the General Manager - Trade Finance & Investment at Taleveras from February 2020 to August 2022. Alaa' also held the position of Regional Relationship Manager at Credit Europe Bank N.V. from October 2019 to February 2020.

Before joining Credit Europe Bank N.V., Alaa' Ahmad worked as the Regional RM - Head of Dubai Representative Office at BMCE BANK International Plc from April 2018 to September 2019. Alaa' also gained experience as a Regional Relationship Manager at BACB plc from January 2017 to March 2018.

Earlier in their career, Alaa' Ahmad worked as a Director Structured Commodity Trade Finance at Emirates NBD from November 2014 to December 2016. Alaa' also held the position of Trade Finance Relationship Manager - Assistant Vice President at BCP Banque de Commerce et de Placements from August 2008 to October 2014.

Furthermore, Alaa' Ahmad gained experience in trade finance as a Trade Finance - AO at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation from January 2008 to July 2008. Prior to that, they worked at Citibank N.A. Jordan as Tarde Finance, Treasury & Cash Management - AO from June 2006 to December 2007. Alaa' started their career at Islamic International Arab Bank PLC as a Trade Finance COU & Branches - AO from November 2001 to May 2006.

Alaa' Ahmad has a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from Jami'at Al Al-Bayt, which they earned from 1997 to 2001. In 2011, they obtained the CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) from The London Institute of Banking & Finance. Alaa' also completed the CITF (Certificate in International Trade Finance) from The London Institute of Banking & Finance in 2013. In 2015, they received a certification in Commodity from the University of Colorado Denver. Alaa' also achieved a Certificate IFA level 1 from the International Trade and Forfaiting Association in 2015. Alaa' Ahmad completed the Certified Manager Program from Harvard Manager Mentor in 2016.
