Eric Siegel

Eric Siegel is an advisor at Open Ocean Robotics. Eric was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at RBR Ltd., a company that creates oceanographic instruments. While at RBR, Eric tripled the sales pipeline, grew sales by 75%, and was on track to double sales in a three-year period. Eric also opened international sales offices in Canada, USA, China, France, Australia, and New Zealand.

Eric is the author of three non-repayable, non-dilutive grants that were funded to develop innovative new sensors and capabilities: Development of oceanographic sensors for high-volume manufacturing ($600k, IRAP), Advancing smart integrated ocean sensors ($2M, OSC), and Development of the Mercurius Lander deep-sea monitoring and early-warning system ($600k, IRAP).

Eric initiated and led the RBR2020 cohort program, bringing together 16 early-career scientists from around the world to enable innovative ocean measurements through collaborative workshops, technical developments, demonstration programs, and SciComm mentorship.

Eric Siegel received their MBA from Northeastern University with a focus in global business, leadership, and innovation. Eric also holds an MS in physical oceanography from the University of South Florida and a BS in marine science from Eckerd College.
