Carl Wikman is an experienced video professional with a diverse background in video production and multimedia applications. Currently serving as a Certified FAA Drone Pilot at carl wikman Video/Tape and a Freelance Videographer for the Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club, Carl has held multiple video specialist roles with various organizations, including Open Signal: Portland Community Media Center, City of Portland, and Metro Regional Government. Additionally, Carl has been the Executive Producer at Wikman Multi-Media since 1988, producing a significant volume of live webstreaming content. As Creative Director at Prange Enterprises, Carl collaborates with noted authors on military history and creates engaging multimedia content. Previous roles include Video Producer/Director for the Oregon City School District and Location Manager at WFMC. Education includes an FAA Part 107 UA pilot certificate from Pilot Institute and study in radio/tv production technology at Mt. Hood Community College.
Open Signal: Portland Community Media Center
Open Signal is a nonprofit media arts center dedicated to helping Portland-area people tell their stories. Open Signal recently launched their summer 2017 classes, which put the power of the media in the hands of Portlanders by certifying students ages sixteen and up to borrow equipment for free from Open Signal's media equipment library, which includes video production and animation equipment, cinema-quality cameras and more.
