David Cox has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. David started their career at Deloitte & Touche, where they worked as an Assistant Tax Manager and eventually became an Audit Manager. David then moved to Natal Motor Industries, where they served as a Finance Manager. After that, they worked at Pannell Kerr Forster PLC as a Project Accountant, managing financial projects and responsibilities for PKF International. David later became a Finance Manager at Hull Blyth & Co.

David then joined Notability Solutions LLC as a Financial Planning Analysis Manager before transitioning to Centrica PLC, where they served as a Finance Manager. At Centrica, they were responsible for managing accounting processes, financial analysis, budgeting, and ad-hoc projects. David then worked at B&Q, the largest global DIY retailer, in various finance management roles, including Central Finance Manager, IT Infrastructure Finance Manager, and Finance Project Manager.

Following their time at B&Q, David joined CooperVision as a Finance Manager before becoming the Finance Director at carsales.com Ltd, an ASX Top 100 company operating in the automotive industry. In this role, they oversaw online advertising, dealer services, and data services.

David's most recent position is at Open Universities Australia, where they hold the role of Head of Finance. In this role, they are responsible for the finance, treasury, and facilities functions, leading strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance and safe operations. David has also played a key role in major M&A projects and developed financial models for improved operational alignment.

David Cox has a diverse education history, beginning with their Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they completed between 1986 and 1991. In 1992 and 1993, they pursued a Higher Diploma in Taxation - legal, also at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. In 2009, David attended the Melbourne Business School for a Management Development program. Subsequently, in 2015, they participated in the CFO Mentoring Program at the Financial Executives Institute. Finally, in 2018, David Cox enrolled at Harvard Business School for a course on Disruptive Strategy.
