Director Of Teaching And Learning at Open Window School

Cary Kirby's work experience includes serving as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Open Window School since July 2018, as well as being a Professional Growth Coach and Curriculum Coordinator since August 2016. They also worked as the Director of Open Window Online since July 2021. Before that, Cary worked at PK Yonge Developmental Research School as a University School Assistant Professor from August 2006 to July 2016. Cary's earliest work experience was as a Teacher at the School Board of Alachua County from August 1999 to August 2006.

Cary Kirby's education history begins in 1995 when they attended the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1998. Following this, from 1998 to 2000, Cary pursued a Master of Education (MEd) degree at the same institution. In 2012, they continued their education at the University of Florida and obtained an Education Specialist (EdS) degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2014. Finally, Cary completed their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus on Educational Technology, at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2018.

Cary has also obtained various certifications, including a Gifted Endorsement and a Special Education certification for grades K-12, both from the Florida Department of Education. Additionally, they earned an Elementary Education certification for grades 1-6 from the same institution in 1999.
