Elizabeth Welden-Smith has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Elizabeth is currently serving as the Director of Institutional Advancement and Strategy at Open Window School. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Director at CCS Fundraising.
Elizabeth also has extensive experience at the Monterey Jazz Festival, where they held multiple roles including Deputy Director, Director of Marketing and Strategic Relations, and Director of Strategic Relations. Elizabeth was responsible for managing daily operations, developing strategic plans, building relationships, and overseeing marketing and fundraising efforts.
Elizabeth has also worked as a Grant Reviewer at the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards, where they recognized and supported excellence in arts and humanities programs for young people. Additionally, Elizabeth has experience at the National Steinbeck Center as Co-Director/Director of Operations and Curator of Education and Public Programs, and at the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a Grants Coordinator.
Prior to their current roles, Elizabeth worked as an Administrative and Resource Coordinator at Information and Cultural Exchange. Throughout their career, Elizabeth has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, relationship-building, and fundraising skills.
Elizabeth Welden-Smith's education history includes a variety of experiences. Elizabeth first pursued a Bachelor's degree in European History from Mills College, attending from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they went on to pursue a Master's degree in Museum Studies from The Australian National University, completing the program from 2007 to 2009. Recently, in 2021 and 2022, they enrolled in an online program through Coursera and obtained a Program Management Certificate, indicating their interest and commitment to expanding their knowledge and skills in this area.
