Joy S.

Joy S. currently serves as a Subject Matter Expert on the Human Data Team at OpenAI, focusing on advancing large language models' philosophical comprehension and designing evaluation rubrics for assessing critical reasoning in model outputs. Prior to this role, Joy was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Philosophy at Princeton University, where original research was conducted at the intersection of philosophy and cognitive science, with findings shared through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Joy holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, expected in 2029, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philosophy from Princeton University, completed in 2023, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, obtained in 2016.
