Ryan Cheu

Ryan Cheu is a Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI since July 2023, with extensive experience in machine learning and software engineering. Prior to this role, Ryan worked at Quora from June 2015 to July 2023, where positions included Staff Engineer in Machine Learning, leading teams focused on algorithms for content delivery, and a part-time consulting role in recommendation systems and large language models. Earlier experiences include software engineering internships at MIT Game Lab, Yahoo!, and other organizations where Ryan developed skills in Android development and game programming. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earned between 2011 and 2015.
