Gerard Verkerk

Gerard Verkerk has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Docent en mentor at Openbaar Onderwijs Groningen since August 2021, where the focus is on providing tailored educational support for students facing difficulties in mainstream secondary education. Prior roles include teaching special education at RENN4, geography and social studies at Dr. Nassau College, and geography in specialized secondary education at De Onderwijsspecialisten. Additionally, Gerard has experience as a docent begeleider at Studiekring, project leader for international youth exchanges at Stichting Timu Kota, and youth worker at Youth for Christ Nederland. Gerard's professional foundation is supported by a Bachelor of Education degree in geography from HAN University of Applied Sciences, earned from 2000 to 2004.
