Martin Berendse

Martin Berendse serves as Vicevoorzitter at the Adviescollege Openbaarheid en Informatiehuishouding since June 2022, advising the government and parliament on the transparency of public information and improving information management. In addition, Martin holds the position of Voorzitter bestur at Stichting de Zaanse Schans and has been the Chief Executive of OBA (Amsterdam Public Library) since July 2014. Previously, Martin served as National Archivist at the Nationaal Archief from January 2008 to June 2014 and as President of the International Council on Archives from 2010 to 2014. Martin's extensive experience in cultural administration includes roles at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Ro Theater, Theater Netwerk Nederland, and Festival a/d Werf. Martin holds a Master of Arts in Archiefwetenschap from the University of Amsterdam and a Meester in de rechten from Utrecht University.
