Lewis Martin has been working in the scientific field for several years. In 2021 they began working as the Chief Scientific Officer for OpenBench. Prior to that, they held a Postdoc position at Lambert Initiative from 2017-2021. Before that, from 2014-2017, they worked as a PhD Bioengineering researcher at the University of Sydney. Lewis's research focused on developing strategies for ligand design and manipulation of solution parameters through computer simulations of peptides in solution and interacting with polymer surfaces, and the production of biomaterials with embedded peptides aided by electric fields.
Lewis Martin completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biophysics from the University of Sydney between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Hons) in Bioinformatics from The Australian National University between 2009 and 2011. Lewis also completed research at the Cooperative Research Centre for Cell Therapy Manufacturing.
