Jon Little

Senior Security Engineer at OpenComp

Jon Little has over 8 years of work experience in the security field. Jon began their career in 2014 as a Security Analyst III at Panasonic Avionics Corporation, where they were responsible for building and maintaining a LogRhythm SEIM, Trend Micro DDI and DDAN with Control Manager integration. In 2016, they moved to Keck Medicine of USC as a Security Analyst, where they helped the organization through a health department audit by creating policy and procedures to outline how Keck is now protected after they were breached from Ransomware. Jon then moved to UCLA Health in 2017 as a Senior Security Analyst, where they provided consulting and lead a team that were all working to resolve security threats and risk management. In 2017, they also joined Ring as a Security Analyst/Threat Intelligence, working with an elite team of hackers/Engineers to keep Ring-API and applications secure. In 2018, they moved to Amazon as a Security Engineer, where they developed incident response playbooks and workflow creations. In 2019, they joined FanDuel as a Senior Security Engineer, helping to scale out the current Security Operations and add more tooling. In 2020, they joined Cameo as a Senior Security Engineer, and also began working at GOAT Group as a Senior Security Engineer, where they worked with teams to further develop and enhance the Security Posture at goat.com. Jon also authored a book for Packt in 2020. Most recently, in 2022, they joined OpenComp as a Senior Security Engineer.

Jon Little has a diverse educational background. Jon began their studies in 2002 at Erie Community College, where they studied General Studies Liberal Arts. Jon then attended Texas Massage Therapy School - San Antonio from 2004 to 2005, earning their Licensed Massage Therapist degree in Massage Therapy. From 2003 to 2004, they studied Massage Therapy at the New York Institute of Massage Therapy. In 2011, they attended Northwest Vista College to study CISCO Networking. Currently, they are enrolled at Stanford University, where they are pursuing an Advanced Computer Security Certificate in Advanced Computer Security.

In addition to their educational background, Jon Little has obtained a variety of certifications. These include an Advanced Cybersecurity Certificate from Stanford Online in December 2022, a Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2018, a LogRhythm Certified Professional from LogRhythm in March 2015, a Microsoft Certified Professional - Windows XP from Microsoft in July 2010, a Security+ from CompTIA in July 2010, and a Cisco Ironport Certified Security Professional from Cisco in November 2012.
