Mayuri Murugesu has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Mayuri started their career as a Reservoir Engineering Intern at BHP Billiton in 2007, followed by an internship as a Production Engineering Intern at Eni Petroleum in 2008. From 2009 to 2012, they worked as an Engineer at HydroFlame Technologies, LLC, where they successfully tested surface and downhole steam generators and conducted research on adapting HydroFlame concepts in other applications.
In 2013, Mayuri joined The University of Texas at Austin as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant until 2015. Mayuri then worked for Aera Energy LLC as a Petrophysics Intern in 2014 before taking up various roles within the company. As a Production Engineer from 2015 to 2019, Mayuri monitored well performance, implemented improvements to production surveillance processes, and increased work efficiency through the creation of tools and reports. Mayuri subsequently served as the Light Oil Production Monitoring Team Lead from 2019 to 2021, overseeing a team of engineers and technicians, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing performance updates to management. From 2021 to 2022, Mayuri served as the Compliance Assurance Process Lead, where they led the creation of a regulation program, managed program creation for various areas, and developed standardized measures for compliance visibility.

Mayuri Murugesu earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University, which they completed from 2005 to 2008.
