Oliver Whitney serves as the Principal of Data Engineering and Architecture at OpenField since August 2024. Previously, Whitney held the role of Director of Data Architecture at Sierra Club from July 2017 to July 2024, overseeing data accessibility and usability to support organizational goals. Prior experience includes positions at the Democratic National Committee, where Whitney was an Analytics Platform Administrator and Data Services Manager, and at AFL-CIO, managing the Labor Action Network and providing extensive training. Whitney began a career at The National Maritime Heritage Foundation, managing various on-water programs. Educated at Carleton College with a BA in American Studies, Whitney possesses a strong background in data management, analysis, and training across multiple organizations.
