Matt Pennies

Matt Pennies has extensive work experience in various leadership and sales roles. Matt currently holds the position of Senior Vice President - Sales, US at OPENLANE. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Camp Gladiator from December 2021 to November 2023.

Before joining Camp Gladiator, Matt was the Vice President - Sales at Nerdy, a leading direct-to-consumer platform for online learning, where they worked from January 2018 to September 2021. Their role at Nerdy involved leading the delivery of high-quality live expertise through the application of technology and AI.

Matt also has a strong background in sales and operations. Matt held multiple positions at Sears Holdings Corporation, including Senior Director of Sales & Operations - Aftermarket Service Contracts and Director of Sales - Aftermarket Service Contracts. Their tenure at Sears lasted from May 2008 to January 2018.

Earlier in their career, Matt worked as an Organizational Development Manager at Essilor Group, a Regional Sales Director at NovaStar Mortgage, and an Organizational Development Consultant at Ameriquest Mortgage Company. Matt also gained experience as a National Trainer - Sales and Service at Sears Home Services.

Matt's career began in education, where they taught Government/Economics/Basketball at PRAIRIE LEA ISD from August 2000 to August 2002. Through their extensive and diverse work experience, Matt has developed strong leadership, sales, and operational skills.
