Luke LaRue has a diverse work experience, starting in 2020 as a Substitute Teacher at Dripping Springs ISD. In 2021, they worked as a Data Analysis/Entry Specialist at Whole Foods Market for three months, before joining Farmers Insurance as an Actuarial Assistant. In this role, Luke filed rate changes for multiple states and conducted quarterly analyses for indication reviews. Luke also contributed to various technical projects aimed at improving the actuarial rating system. Luke then transitioned into the role of Actuarial Analyst at Farmers Insurance, where they conducted rate testing for home products, ensured the functionality of tools, made improvements when necessary, and assisted in the development of new insurance products. Luke is currently working as a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Openly, starting in July 2023.
Luke LaRue attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2016 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In addition to their degree, Luke has attained several certifications including MAS-I from the Casualty Actuarial Society in May 2023, Exam 5 from the Casualty Actuarial Society in October 2022, DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer Specialization from DeepLearning.AI in May 2021, Exam IFM/3 from the Casualty Actuarial Society in March 2021, Deep Learning Specialization from DeepLearning.AI in December 2020, Exam FM/2 from the Casualty Actuarial Society in December 2020, Reinforcement Learning Specialization from the University of Alberta in September 2020, and Exam P/1 from the Casualty Actuarial Society in July 2020.
