Paul Norman

Paul Norman is an experienced open-source developer and software engineer, currently contributing to the OpenStreetMap Foundation since 2010. Paul has held various significant roles, including Director at Amazon Web Services from October 2021 to September 2022, where a map generation architecture for self-hosted maps was designed. Prior experience includes software engineering positions at Amazon, Wikimedia Foundation, CartoDB, MapQuest, and AOL, as well as participating in the Google Summer of Code. Noteworthy achievements involve developing new features and map styles, optimizing PostgreSQL data conversions, and enhancing geospatial services. Paul holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics from The University of British Columbia, graduated in 2013.
