Sharon James, MBA

Sharon James, MBA, has a strong background in laboratory science and management. Sharon'smost recent role was as a Line Manager at Opentrons Labworks Inc., where they managed a team of over 10 technologists and ensured a smooth workflow in the COVID testing pipeline. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist at Montefiore Health System, where they executed processing of Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell products and performed thawing procedures for therapeutic use. Sharon also served as a Senior Laboratory Scientist at Integrated Oncology @LabCorp, where they facilitated complex oncological testing using molecular techniques and implemented new assay launches. Sharon gained experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Lead at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where they directed subordinates and executed DNA assays in oncology, genetics, and infectious disease. Previously, Sharon worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Enzo Clinical Labs and as a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Shiel Medical Laboratory. These roles allowed their to gain experience in assay facilitation, quality control, and laboratory operations.

Sharon James, MBA completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Pharmaceutical Management and Marketing from Rutgers Business School from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Stony Brook University from 2003 to 2005. Before attending Stony Brook University, they pursued a biology program at St. John's University from 2001 to 2003, although they did not earn a degree from that institution.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Sharon James has obtained several certifications. In August 2019, they completed the "SAS Programming for R Users, Part 1" certification from LinkedIn. Furthermore, they hold the "Clinical Laboratory Technologist" certification from the New York State Education Department, which they obtained in October 2008.
