Chris Down

Chris Down is a highly experienced engineering professional and the joint founder of OpenWorks Engineering Ltd, where Chris has served as CEO and Managing Director since May 2015, focusing on delivering quality technical solutions. Previously, Chris was a Senior Design Engineer at Pearson Engineering Ltd from September 2009 to June 2015, leading military bridging programmes and vehicle integration projects. Chris also held the position of Design Manager and Operations Director at Abtus Ltd between June 2005 and August 2009, overseeing the design and development of rail surveying equipment. Early career experience includes roles as Design Engineer and Operations Manager at Pilot Drilling Control Ltd, where Chris was involved in designing equipment for the oil and gas industry. Chris holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Cambridge, earned in 2003.
