Jo Davies

Jo Davies is a seasoned director and artistic leader in the performing arts, currently serving as a Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company since 2013 and as the Artistic Director at Opera Australia since January 2023. With a diverse portfolio, Davies has held director roles at Welsh National Opera from 2014 to 2020, Opera North since 2001, Angers Nantes Opéra since 2012, English National Opera since 2021, National Theatre Wales from 2015 to 2016, Washington National Opera from 2015 to 2017, and Royal Exchange Theatre from 2015 to 2020. Additionally, Davies has been a Director at the Royal College of Music since 2010. Academic qualifications include a degree in English and Drama from the University of Bristol and a postgraduate degree in Music Theatre from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, obtained between 1995 and 1997.
