Glenn McDonald

Glenn McDonald has extensive work experience in the tech industry, with their most recent role being a Software Engineer at Operant starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they worked at DigitalOcean as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer from December 2021 to February 2023, and as a Site Reliability Engineer from January 2021 to December 2021. Before DigitalOcean, Glenn worked at MariaDB Corporation as a Site Reliability Engineer from August 2019 to December 2020. At MariaDB Corporation, they were involved in building a DBaaS product called SkySQL in a multi-cloud environment, designing and implementing a scalable monitoring system, and creating Prometheus Exporters in Go for collecting metrics. Prior to that, they were a Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from May 2018 to July 2019, where they were responsible for improving the resiliency of the Kafka platform and building out an internal monitoring platform. Glenn's earlier experience includes working as a Technical Designer (Big Data) at Clydesdale Bank from August 2016 to May 2018, where they played a key role in transforming the Big Data Platform to deliver predictive analytics and machine learning, and as a Systems Administrator at Texas Instruments from June 2015 to August 2016, where they maintained and improved the UNIX Production Infrastructure.

Glenn McDonald attended St. Matthews Academy from 2004 to 2010, but they did not earn a degree or specify a field of study during this time. From 2010 to 2012, they studied Information Technology at James Watt College, although they did not complete a degree program. Finally, from 2012 to 2014, Glenn attended the University of the West of Scotland where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications.
