Operation Breakthrough

Operation Breakthrough is the largest single site early childhood center and day care in the state of Missouri. Every day, we serve around 400 children and their families with educational services, speech, occupational and physical therapy, social service support, and mental health services. Children's Mercy Hospital maintains an on-site clinic to serve the health needs of our children. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and are a Head Start Center. Founded in 1971 by Sr. Corita Bussanmas and Sr Berta Sailer as St. Vincent's Family Service Center, we strive to provide high quality educational and support services in a manner that will meet the needs of the families of the inner city of Kansas City, Missouri.
