Jarno Pöntinen

Jarno Pöntinen has extensive experience in the field of education and vocational training. Jarno currently serves as the Chief Technologist at the Finnish National Agency for Education. Prior to this role, they worked as the Cooperation Manager for the technology industry and vocational college at Etelä-Savon ammattiopisto Esedu. Jarno'sresponsibilities included improving education cooperation and creating new ways to educate welders, electricians, mechanics, and CNC-machinists for the Technology Industry.

Before joining Esedu, Jarno worked as an Education Manager at Further Education Salpaus, where they oversaw the educational programs. Jarno also served as a Project Manager for welfare technology at Etelä-Savon ammattiopisto Esedu. In this role, they developed welfare technology education and created a learning environment equipped with modern welfare technology.

Prior to that, they worked as an Education Manager at South Savo Vocational College. Jarno's earlier experience includes working as an Education Planner in the wood technology industry at TEAK OY - International Center for Vocational Adult Training. In this role, they were involved in the recruiting process and planned education programs for clients in the wood technology industry.

Jarno Pöntinen began their education in 1999 at Xamk - South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Wood Science and Wood Products Technology. Jarno completed this program in 2003. Later on, in 2008, Jarno enrolled at JAMK University of Applied Sciences to further their education in vocational teacher education, specializing in vocational education. Jarno completed this program in 2010. In 2010, Jarno returned to JAMK University of Applied Sciences to pursue a specialist degree in competence-based qualifications, which they completed in 2011. Finally, from 2015 to 2017, Jarno attended JAMK University of Applied Sciences once again, this time pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering, with a field of study in Technological Competence Management.
