Damien Burke

Damien Burke is the current CEO of Eirgen Pharma at OPKO Health. Damien has also worked for Shire and MSD in the past. Damien's work history is as follows:

Damien began their career at MSD in January 2013, working as an engineering systems coach and process safety team lead. In this role, they were responsible for introducing, managing and maintaining the Energy Control Procedure (ECP) programme for the MSD Swords site. Damien also managed and maintained the High Risk Work (HRW) programmes, including the Permit to Work system used on site by both MSD personnel and contractors.

In June 2017, Damien left MSD to join Shire as their IFM Facilities Lead. In this role, they were responsible for the Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) function at the Shire Piercetown Biologics facility, including management of site soft services, black utilities, facilities, GMP cleaning, site security, laundry services, help-desk, building management, fire systems, building maintenance, energy and sustainability, site permitting, electrical, gas, water and wastewater utilities, waste management, gas systems and refrigeration plant and lab services.

However, Damien only spent a year at Shire before moving on to their current role as CEO of Eirgen Pharma at OPKO Health in January 2019.

Damien Burke has a MBA from Technological University Dublin in Facilities Management. Damien also has a M.Eng.Sc. from University College Dublin in by Research. Lastly, they have a B.Sc. from Technological University Dublin in Mechanical Engineering.
