Elizabeth Nabel

Elizabeth Nabel, MD, currently serves as Chair of the OPKO Advisory Board and Chief Medical Officer at OPKO Health, Inc. since May 2022. Prior to this role, Elizabeth was the Executive Vice President for Strategy at ModeX Therapeutics Inc. from March 2021 to June 2023, and held prominent positions at Brigham and Women's Hospital as President from 2010 to March 2021. Elizabeth also served as a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School during a similar timeframe. Additionally, Elizabeth was the Chief Health and Medical Advisor for the NFL between 2013 and 2017, and directed the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute from 1999 to 2009. Elizabeth began an extensive academic career at the University of Michigan Medical School from 1987 to 1999, where various roles included Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Professor of Medicine and Physiology. Elizabeth Nabel earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
