Jo Ann Barefoot

Jo Ann has served on Oportun’s board since 2016. She is the founder and CEO of Barefoot Innovation Group and serves as advisor to private consumer finance companies and fintech startups. She currently serves as chair of the board of the Center for Financial Services Innovation and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling, and formerly served on the Consumer Advisory Board of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Jo Ann previously served as Deputy Comptroller of the Currency and has held leadership roles at Treliant Risk Advisors, KPMG, and the National Association of Realtors, as well as serving on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Jo Ann was a senior fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government at Harvard University.
