Lanita Lewis started their work experience in 2004 as an intern at Johnson Financial Group - JFG. Lanita then worked as a Cashier at ALDI Stores from 2007 to 2011. After that, they joined Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago as a Housing Coordinator/ Intake Specialist from 2011 to 2018. In 2018, Lanita worked as a Customer Service Representative at ComEd for a year. Currently, they are working at OppFi, starting as a Customer Advocate in 2019 and later becoming the Customer Advocate Team Lead.

Lanita Lewis obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in University Studies and Business Administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, which was completed in 2011.
