Shannon Hagerman has held various roles throughout their career. Shannon started in 1999 as a journalist at Brunswick News Inc. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as an Assignment Editor and Journalist at the Telegraph-Journal. Shannon then moved into government communications, starting in 2007 as a Communications Director for the Government of New Brunswick. Shannon held various roles within different ministries, including the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Health. In 2012, they joined the Government of British Columbia as the Communications Director for the Ministry of Health, and later held positions in the Ministry of Community Sport and Cultural Development and the Ministry of International Trade. Shannon returned to the Government of New Brunswick in 2016 as an Assistant Deputy Minister and served in that role until 2019. In 2019, they became the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Opportunities NB.
Shannon Hagerman completed their high school education at Nackawic High School from 1993 to 1995. Shannon then pursued a Bachelor of Journalism degree at Carleton University from 1995 to 1999, specializing in Journalism & Communication with a minor in History.
