Marissa Benner

Senior Director, Finance Operations & Stewardship at Opportunity International

Marissa Benner is the Senior Director of AgFinance Operations & Stewardship responsible for the oversight of Opportunity International’s AgFinance team operations, budget, impact measurement, and the diversity and climate strategies. She is also the liaison for the business development units across the network for AgFinance initiatives.

Marissa joined the AgFinance team in November 2021 after leading the Program Management team since 2017. Prior to that, she managed Opportunity’s largest single award, a $22 million project across five countries in Africa. From 2012-2014, Marissa lived in Lilongwe, working as the Director of Donor Programs at Opportunity Bank Malawi.

Marissa originally joined Opportunity in 2010 after completing her Master’s in Business Administration in International Economic Development from Eastern University. She also has a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Messiah College. Marissa holds PRINCE2 Practitioner and Foundations Certifications in Project Management.
