Ra/qa Manager - Software As A Medical Device at Optellum

Dave Arrowsmith has a long and varied work history. Dave began their career in 1990 as a Molecular Biologist at Unilever, followed by a similar role at AstraZeneca in 1998. In 1999 they moved to Weetabix as an Analyst/Programmer. In 2007, they became a Business Systems Analyst at the South Canterbury District Health Board, where they managed a project to satisfy national mental health reporting requirements. In 2009, they joined iSOFT as a Software Test Analyst, managing system testing and coordinating offshore development, testing and support teams. In 2011, they moved to Lloyds Bank as a Software Test Lead, updating testing processes in the Business Change function and leading a change in testing strategy for the organisation’s £20m Transformation programme. In 2014, they became a Senior Product Analyst/Test Engineer at Mirada Medical, leading requirements gathering, use case to system requirement and design specifications for Mirada's first interventional radiology application. In 2018, they joined Optellum as RA/QA Manager and Test and QA Engineer, where they successfully achieved FDA 510(k), EU MDR class IIb (CE marking) and UKCA marking for software medical device (SaMD) with artificial intelligence/machine learning computer aided diagnosis (CADx). Dave also implemented and maintained an ISO 13485:2016 and EU MDR Quality Management System and served as Quality management representative.

Dave Arrowsmith attended the University of Nottingham from 1987 to 1990, where they obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry and Genetics.
