Davide Iannuzzi

Co-Founder and Shareholder at Optics11 Life

Davide Iannuzzi is currently the Chief Impact Officer at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), a role they began in January 2022. Prior to this, they held several positions at VU Amsterdam, including Professor in Experimental Physics - University Research Chair, Director of Valorization, and Founder and Director of Demonstrator Lab. In these roles, they focused on research, knowledge transfer, and co-creation. Additionally, Davide was an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at VU Amsterdam.

Outside of VU Amsterdam, Davide founded and owned Sixpointsix starting March 2012. Davide also co-founded and was a shareholder of Optics11, a fiber optic sensing solutions company, from April 2011 onwards. Davide played a key role in driving the technology transfer process and the company's development. Moreover, Davide has been involved in various advisory and board roles, including as an Advisor for Dayrize and Hospi Housing, a member of the Advisory Board for Faculty of Impact, and a member of the Supervisory Board for StartHub Amsterdam. Davide has also served on the Board of Advisors for ACE (Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship) and Scailable (until June 2022).

Davide Iannuzzi pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with their undergraduate studies at Università degli Studi di Padova from 1990 to 1995. During this period, they obtained their Laurea degree in Physics. Following a gap, they enrolled in Università di Pavia in 1998 and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics in 2001. Later on, from 2013 to 2015, Davide attended TIAS School for Business and Society, where they earned their Master in Business Administration.
