Melissa Smith

Melissa Smith has been working in the APM field since 1999. Melissa began their career as a Radio Broadcaster - Morning Show Host at Bahakel Broadcasting and Signal Communications. In 2001, they became an Account Executive at Textron Financial. Melissa then moved to American Mortgage Network as a SR. Mid-Atlantic Broker Coordinator in 2003. In 2004, they became an Operations Manager at Encore Credit Corp - Bravo Credit Corp retail subsidiary. In 2006, they held the role of Model Asset Underwriter at Ally Financial Inc. / GMAC Model Home Finance, LLC and Operations Team Lead at GMAC ResCap / GMAC Model Home Finance, LLC. From 2011 to 2019, they worked at SunTrust as VP, Product Strategy Implementation Manager and Capital Markets Product Strategy & Change Management Supervisor. Most recently, they have been working at Truist since 2019 as SVP, Mortgage Capital Markets Product Design Manager and will soon start at OptiFunder as Product Management & Client Experience in 2022.

Melissa Smith, APM has attended Bellevue University and J Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Melissa has also obtained certifications from Scaled Agile, Inc. as a Certified SAFe 5 Agile Product Manager in December 2021 and is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association's Mortgage Action Alliance.
