Crystal Thai has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Crystal currently holds the position of Senior Software Developer at Optigo Networks since December 2020. Previously, they worked at Delta Controls for a remarkable 17 years starting in June 2003. At Delta Controls, Crystal served as a Software Developer and contributed to the development of desktop applications for building automation software, focusing on User Interface Design. Crystal also worked on developing a PHP Extension application and a web interface using technologies such as PHP, C++, JavaScript, HTML, and MySQL.
Before Delta Controls, Crystal worked as a Co-op Software Developer at Aspen Technology in May 2002. Crystal transitioned into this role while Hyprotech Technologies was merging with Aspen Technology. Prior to that, they held the role of a Teaching Assistant for 100-level Engineering Computer Science at The University of British Columbia from September 2000 to May 2001. In this position, they led lab classes, marked assignments and exams, and provided support to students.
Crystal's career started as a Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia SWIFT in January 1999. During their time there, they worked on developing a Java-based program to promote interest in programming and computer science among elementary-school age females. Crystal also focused on understanding and supporting females in the Science and Engineering field, particularly in Computer Science and Engineering.
Crystal Thai earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from The University of British Columbia. Crystal attended the university from 1998 to 2003.
