Sahand Karimi

Sahand Karimi is a Co-Founder and CEO of OptiGrid, a University of Adelaide spin-out focused on integrating data science with power systems to tackle energy industry challenges. Concurrently, Sahand serves as a Power System Engineer at the Australian Energy Market Operator, working on Frequency Performance Payments procedures, and holds a PhD candidacy at the University of Adelaide, researching battery storage strategies for optimizing utility-scale solar and wind farm profits. With a strong foundation in academia, Sahand has contributed as a casual academic and laboratory assistant, facilitating student learning in various electrical engineering courses, while also engaging in significant research at CSIRO and Sharif University of Technology. Sahand's educational credentials include a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Adelaide and advanced degrees from Sharif University of Technology.
