Charles Tango

Charles Tango is the current advisor at OptimEyes.ai and has previous experience as the Chief Information Security Officer at Altria and the Chief Information Security & Risk Officer at Sterling National Bank. At Altria, Charles was responsible for the departments managing Information Security, Operational Risk, Vendor Risk Management, Business Continuity, and Model Risk Management. Charles reported directly to the Chief Risk Officer with matrix reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Board Audit Committee, and Board Enterprise Risk Committee. In conjunction with the CIO, they led the digital transformation of the bank.

At Sterling National Bank, Charles was responsible for creating the Operations and Technology Risk Management department, including all policies, procedures, and staffing requirements; bringing together all domains related to IT and Operational Risk. Charles also developed the bank’s future Enterprise Risk Management framework which integrated all IT, Operational, Market, and Credit Risk into one end-to-end process for senior management and board consumption. In addition, they launched an eGRC platform to manage and automate the functions of IT & Operational Risk, including Information Security and RCSA.

Charles has also served on the board of directors for the Richmond Technology Council - rvatech where they encouraged technology innovation and collaboration in the greater Richmond area.

Charles Tango's educational career includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from Clarkson University and a Field in Business / MIS from Excelsior College.
