President, Ames Chapter at Optimist International

Kelli Excell has extensive work experience in various roles. Kelli started their career in 2000 as a Labor & Delivery RN at Mary Greeley Medical Center, where they worked until 2006. In 2006, they transitioned into the real estate industry, joining Triplett Companies as a Broker/Manager. Kelli then moved on to NextHome Journey in 2007, taking on the role of Broker/Manager. In 2010, they became the Past President of the Ames Rental Association and also joined the Central Iowa Board of Realtors, eventually serving as their Past President from 2010 to 2019. Kelli was also a Past President of the Landlords of Iowa Association from 2011 to 2015. In 2019, they were elected President of the Ames Chapter of Optimist International.

Kelli Excell attended Weber State University from 1996 to 1998, where they graduated with a degree in Nursing (RN). Their field of study focused on the medical field.

Optimist International

Optimist International is an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.
