Derek Emmett

Derek Emmett has over 20 years of experience in hardware design engineering. Derek worked as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Network Equipment Technologies from 1995 to 1999. Derek then served as a Hardware Engineering Manager at Accordion Networks from 1999 to 2000. After that, they joined Petaswitch as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer from 2000 to 2001. Derek then worked at Terawave Communications as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer from 2001 to 2003. From 2003 to 2012, Derek served as a Principle Hardware Engineer at Network Equipment Technologies where they designed various computing subsystems and heat sinks. Since 2012, they have been the Director of Engineering at Optimum Design Associates, responsible for electronic design and project management for various customers.

Derek Emmett earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from California State University, Chico.
