Camilo Gutierrez

Camilo Gutierrez is an experienced engineering and project management professional with a robust background in the steel manufacturing industry. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Optimus Steel, LLC, since January 2020, Camilo is responsible for managing complex multimillion-dollar projects and a substantial capital budget, aiming to double plant capacity within seven years. Previously, as Senior Project Manager at Ternium, Camilo led the development of utilities for a significant plate mill project and managed a $300 million segment of a $1.2 billion investment. With over a decade at Gerdau S.A. as Engineering & Project Manager, Camilo established a master process for managing capital expansion projects, particularly following acquisitions of Mexican mills. An early career at Techint Engineering & Construction involved various progressive roles leading to management positions, complemented by initial experience as an Assistant Engineer at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Camilo holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
