Matthew Russell

Matthew Russell currently serves as the Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs for Asia Pacific at Optiver since November 2021. Prior to this role, Matthew held key positions including Head of Corporate Communications at Credit Suisse from March 2017 to November 2021, where responsibilities encompassed external and internal communications and government relations. Matthew also served as Director at P&L Corporate Communications, Regional Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered Bank for South East Asia, and Managing Director at Nomura overseeing corporate communications across Asia ex-Japan. Earlier career highlights include Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and Division Director at Macquarie Bank, with foundational experience as a journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney, completed in 1988.
