Byron Pakter

Byron Pakter has extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Chief Executive and holding multiple titles at Optony Inc. since September 2015, including Director of Program Development and Project Manager in High Penetration Urban Renewables. Previously, Byron completed a Postgraduate Fellowship in Sustainable Microgrids at Strategic Energy Innovations and worked as a Renewable Energy Economics Analyst at the Berkeley Energy Climate Institute, where responsibilities included stakeholder engagement under Jennifer Granholm. Earlier roles included Director of New Projects at Woodcrest Manor and engineering positions at MET Laboratories, Cleaire Advanced Emission Controls, and Advanced Engine Technologies Corporation. Byron holds a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
