Christian Herr

Christian Herr has over 17 years of experience in finance and administration roles. Christian is currently the Vice President of Finance & Administration at Optotune, where they have been working since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the Director of Finance & Administration at Elma Electronic from January 2021 to April 2023.

Before joining Elma Electronic, Christian worked at Tecan from November 2014 to June 2020. During their time at Tecan, they held various roles including Senior Project Manager Special Projects Sales & Service, General Manager of Tecan SP, Inc., and Head of Finance & Controlling of Tecan SP, Inc. Christian was responsible for sales, marketing, operations, R&D, quality, EHS, finance, HR, and customer service. Christian successfully implemented major projects such as establishing functions in marketing and product management, ISO 13485, lean manufacturing principles, and MRP. Christian also significantly grew the company's employee count and improved the EBIT margin.

Prior to Tecan, Christian worked at Hilding Anders International AB as a Project Management Officer and Business Region Controller for South West Europe. Christian established a group-wide PMO function and successfully implemented project plans for strategic initiatives.

Christian also has experience in various finance and controller roles at Pöyry and Rhenus Logistics. At Pöyry, they served as the Business Area Controller for Latin America/Spain and Eastern Europe/Russia, as well as the Business Group Controller for Urban. At Rhenus Logistics, they held the position of Group Controller for Switzerland.

Throughout their career, Christian has demonstrated expertise in finance, administration, project management, and strategic planning.

Christian Herr pursued their education in the field of finance. In 2002, they enrolled at the University of Sigmaringen and completed a Diploma in Economics (FH) in Controlling in 2006. Following this, from 2006 to 2009, Herr attended the Federation of Switzerland, where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Swiss Certified Expert for Accounting and Controlling. To further enhance their knowledge and skills in finance, they enrolled at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2013 and completed their ACMA, CGMA degree in Finance in 2014.
