Andrew Michalak

Andrew Michalak has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Andrew started their career at Deutsche Bank in 2003, where they worked in interest rate derivatives trading until 2011. Andrew then joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a rates trader and stayed there until 2016. In 2017, they joined OPTrust as a portfolio manager, specializing in fixed income and funding & liquidity. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Funding, Liquidity & Trading at OPTrust.

Andrew Michalak completed their education in the field of mathematics and finance. From 1997 to 2002, they attended the University of Waterloo, where they obtained an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree with a specialization in Business Administration, specifically in Risk Management & Insurance. Later, in 2002 and 2003, Andrew pursued a Master of Mathematical Finance degree at the University of Toronto. Alongside their formal education, they also acquired several certifications, including the Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct & Practises Course, the Derivatives Fundamentals Course, the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course, and they passed the Level I of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam.
