Damien Monks

Damien Monks is an accomplished software development and engineering leader with extensive experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as Associate Director and Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Optum since October 2019, Damien previously held various management roles at IBM from July 2007 to August 2019, overseeing software development, DevOps, and cloud-native solutions for government health analytics and telecommunications. Prior to IBM, Damien worked as SAN Test Manager at Softek Storage Solutions and as a Software Test Engineer at Amdahl. Early in the career, Damien was a Database Support Engineer at Marks and Spencer. Educationally, Damien holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology from Dublin City University, completed in 1997.
