Javier Espido

Javier Espido has extensive experience in the financial industry, having held various leadership roles throughout their career. Javier most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Optus Bank since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Finance Director for Suncoast Credit Union from November 2018 to December 2021. Javier also held the position of Executive Vice President and CFO at Pinnacle Bank FL from January 2016 to August 2018, where they were responsible for transforming and stabilizing the institution. Javier was also the Executive Vice President and CFO at Central Bank in Tampa, Florida from July 2006 to November 2015. Javier played a crucial role in the launch and development of SouthShore Community Bank in Apollo Beach, Florida as the Senior Vice President and CFO from May 2005 to July 2006. Lastly, they worked as the Vice President and Controller at Merchants & Southern Bank in Gainesville, Florida, where they were responsible for corporate level accounting and finance from November 1997 to February 2005.

Javier Espido completed their Bachelor's degree in Public Accounting from Universidad 'Santa María' in the years 1988 to 1994. Javier later pursued a degree in Financial Management with a specialization in BAI - Bank Financial Management from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, from 2001 to 2002. In their earlier education, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science from Colegio Champagnat during the years 1977 to 1988.
