Boris Kagan

Boris Kagan has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and architecture. Boris currently holds the positions of Software Architect and Principal Software Engineer at Oqton, starting in November 2021. Prior to this, Boris worked at 3D Systems Corporation from May 2004 to February 2019, where they held the roles of Software Architect, Principal Software Engineer, and Sr. Software Engineer. Some notable achievements during their time at 3D Systems Corporation include designing and implementing a client-server architecture for a CAM software product, creating a Machine Simulator module, and evaluating GPU-based implementations.

Before joining 3D Systems Corporation, Boris worked as a freelancer at Applied Materials from October 2003 to April 2004, where they developed a rapid prototype for transferring integrated circuit design data. Additionally, Boris held the role of Sr. Software Engineer at Frontline PCB Solutions from 2001 to 2003, where they established a framework for a new Computer Aided Engineering software and supervised the redesign of a knowledge-based 3rd party software.

Boris began their career at Cimatron in 1994, where they served as the CAD Infrastructure Team Leader. During their tenure at Cimatron, they successfully integrated a 3rd-party geometric engine, led the design and development of the CAD application's infrastructure, and managed a team of software developers.
