Kapil Gupta is a seasoned technology leader with significant expertise in engineering and database systems. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Oracle since June 2023, Kapil is responsible for Oracle Health Data Intelligence, a suite of cloud applications that enhance healthcare delivery and operational efficiency. Prior to Oracle, Kapil held the role of VP of Engineering at Yugabyte, where the focus was on a globally-distributed, open-source database system. Experience also includes serving as Director of Engineering for Aurora PostgreSQL at Amazon Web Services and Partner Director of Engineering for Azure Data Warehouse at Microsoft. Earlier in the career, Kapil was an Engineering Leader for Google Spanner, known for its scalable, globally-distributed database capabilities. Kapil holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
