Don Forsyth

Battalion Chief at Orange County Fire Authority

Don Forsyth is a seasoned fire service professional with extensive experience spanning over four decades. As a retired Battalion Chief from the Orange County Fire Authority, Forsyth managed multiple fire stations and personnel in emergency response operations. Forsyth serves as Operations Section Chief for California Wildland Incident Management Teams, overseeing firefighting resources at major wildland fires and other incidents nationwide. In addition, Forsyth is an active instructor at the National Fire Academy and California State Fire Marshall's Training Section, teaching courses on various emergency management topics. Forsyth has held significant roles in multiple organizations, including founding the OCFA Critical Incident Stress Management Team and serving as Vice President of the Orange County Firefighters Emerald Society. Notably, Forsyth played a critical role as Operations Section Chief during the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Educational background includes an Associate Science Degree in Fire Technology from San Diego City College and further studies at California State University, Los Angeles.
